The cooking hat!!!!

Today morning one of my colleagues told me an interesting story:
He walks into the kitchen and sees a hat is being cooked in the pan. He is there and all of a sudden a Bernese girl walks in, "Do you know whose is that" he asks the girl.
Girl: It's mine!
My colleague: why do you cook there?
Girl: Because it fall into the toilet. I have to cook it.
My colleague: But why in the common pans of the kitchen, not in the washing machine?
This discussion goes on but it is hard to convince the girl!

Anyway!!!

Merry Christmas, and happy new year.

We had the institute Christmas dinner couple of days ago and as the year before there was a table soccer tournament. Me and my teammate were the last years champions and we had this advantage to be the same team, but the other teams were being selected out of the draw. Also we had another advantage to play with the top two teams (I should admit that those teams were good ones). So as you may expect we got the championship again:-) Afterward we had the dinner which was swiss raclette cheese. Here are some pictures of the event.
I wish you will have a fantastic new year full of success and championship!

Onion market (Zwiebelmarkt)

So finally I am back and have time to write something cool:-)
There was a special event on monday last week called "onion market". Yeas, "Oninon market:-)"
In this market the farmers bring different types of onion and usually make toys with their combination. The market opens early in the morning and people working in Bern get 1-2 hours off in the morning to visit this morning. They serve gluewine and it is really crowded. For more information in German you can visit (here.)

Also here are some pictures for you:-).

Updates!

As usual I am going to put some of the pictures of my trips. The first picture is about my trip to Davos where I played Alphorn (this is a swiss traditional instrument). Then we were hiking in the mountains and there was this fantastic view where in one side of the valley there was foggy and on the other side not.
In order to attend a meeting, I went to Lugano which is located in southern Switzerland, and has a milder weather so you can see some palm and fig trees around.
But on the way back I was carrying a lot of stuff with me, and the last train was full and I was standing. I forgot my laptop in the train and I realized just when I left the train. The amazing thing is that some nice guy took it to the final train station and I got it back. This is great about Switzerland, isn't it?

IKEA and Iran's map

Two weeks ago I went to Ikea close to Bern, and I saw a pile of Persian carpets with a map of Iran beside them, showing the origin of the carpets. It was really interesting one. Check the picture down here.
Also some times it is good to have some Persian food to remember the taste. E Guete:)

BBQ in Fribourg

Well, in my travel series I went to Fribourg to barbecue with a friend of mine who lives there. He was always saying that Fribourg is one of the nicest cities in the world, and I was kind of convinced, cause it is really nice city beside his and his wife's hospitality helped to get to this conclusion. Just take a look at the pictures here, to see how nice the city is. The first one is near the place where we barbecued (left side of the river in the first pic) and the other one is a picture of the Fribourg cathedral.

Colorado

Finally I got a chance to go to States. It was a new experience and if I exclude the pains of the jet lag and some security check in the airport, it was fun. My friends came from the neighboring state and we visited Denver downtown and Colorado national park. I could see marmots and deer in the wild life. I walked toward a deer till our distance was about 10m, then it ran away.
Check out some pictures(click on them to enlarge).
